New injection moulding machine

Since the end of 2020, the demand for products manufactured by injection moulding has increased enormously. That is why the poesia group put a new injection moulding machine into operation in mid-March 2022.

The company invested in injection moulding technology as early as 2014. In the first phase, the poesia-group mainly produced its own products such as pet care brushes for dogs, cats and horses. In 2018, a second injection moulding machine was purchased to supply external customers.

Over time, the order intake increased more and more. For some clients, the order volume for the current year has already increased fourfold compared to the previous year. This made the acquisition of another machine necessary.

Products for different industries
In the injection moulding sector, the poesia group has specialised in the production of silicone products made of LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber). These are used in building automation, beverage and sanitary applications.

The majority of production in Unterkulm runs automatically on all three machines. The previously purchased machines are still in use. The machine from 2014 and the new injection moulding machine are used for horizontal injection moulding. They offer the perfect modular system for the production of a wide variety of technical parts. Their proven tie-bar-less technology allows the use of a relatively small injection moulding machine even with large moulds. Only the clamping force actually required is used.

When it comes to overmoulding inserts, special precision is required: this is when the poesia group uses the Engel insert, which it purchased in 2018. With its compact, variable machine concept and vertical clamping unit, it is the ideal solution for vertical production.

State-of-the-art
The all-electric new machine from the Austrian brand Engel has a clamping force of 1,300 kilonewtons and has the latest features as well as a higher output than the injection moulding machines previously used by the poesia group.

The poesia group employs over 60 people, including three apprentices. It operates at its main site in Unterkulm and at external sites in Hochdorf and Urdorf. It produces plastic seals for applications in the construction, engineering, transport and food industries.
