New extrusion line

Two important factors in the success of the poesia group are the specific know-how of its employees and high-performance machines. By the end of March, the innovative company will be commissioning its new extrusion line step by step.

Today, the existing extrusion line is still running at full speed day after day. But due to the strong increase in demand for seals made of thermoplastic elastomers, the poesia group was able to purchase an additional high-performance extrusion line.

Before commissioning, the machine, which was christened Louisa, was connected to electricity and water, including configuration of the vacuum conveying system. The poesia group expects the final commissioning to be completed by the end of March 2022, by which time the staff training will also have been completed.

High-tech in Unterkulm
After that, the poesia group's experts will gradually convert production to the new machine from Colmec. With this acquisition, the poesia-group is at the cutting edge of technology and is optimally positioned for the future.

Thanks to the performance of the new extrusion line, up to 100 kg of granulate can be processed per hour. Thanks to the CoEx extrusion head developed by poesia, profiles with two different materials can also be produced. For example, a window seal with a hard back for easier installation and a sealing lip made of soft material for an optimal sealing function.

Increase in personnel
To meet the high demand, the new machine requires additional staff. They will monitor and supervise the extrusion line and produce high-quality seals for doors, windows, etc. The old line will in future be used mainly for the production of seals.

In future, the old line will mainly be used for the running-in of new moulds and their outturn patterns.

The poesia group employs over 60 people including three apprentices. It operates at the main site in Unterkulm and at the external sites in Hochdorf and Urdorf. It produces plastic seals for applications in the construction, engineering, transport and food industries.
