Solid vocational training in a successful group of companies

The poesia group offers young people the perfect start to their careers. The company is currently training four apprentices in commercial professions and two apprentices in technical professions.

After Robin Müller discovered the open apprenticeship position "Kaufmann EFZ" on the poesia website, he immediately wrote his application and brought it to the poesia group in person. The reason for his quick action was the trial apprenticeship he had previously completed at poesia. He recalls: "My positive impressions from the trial apprenticeship and the short commute were decisive." In addition to his application to poesia, Robin also sent his dossier to other companies, but after receiving an acceptance from poesia by phone, he did not hesitate for a second. If he had not been offered the apprenticeship at poesia, he would also have considered an apprenticeship as a computer scientist EFZ or retail specialist EFZ. Robin started his apprenticeship this summer. His first impressions are extremely positive: "I like the work and the daily business very much and I could already get used to it. On the first day, I received a lot of information and a guided tour of the building. After that, my head was full of impressions."

Amélie Cankurt is already in her second year as an EFZ businesswoman. She likes the variety between work and school because she always meets new people. It doesn't matter whether they are employees or other students. She likes the fact that she usually sees a concrete result when she works, which gives her a good feeling. This also boosts her self-confidence. Time management is sometimes a big challenge. It can be exhausting to optimally balance school, work, learning and free time. The first time in a new department in the company can also be demanding, as Amélie receives a lot of new information in order to do the work correctly. She has found that it pays to be active and focused while still at school, as learning is easier afterwards at home: "It can sometimes be exhausting to go to school until 6 pm, but afterwards I feel like I have learned something new. Something I can use in the future." In the first year of her apprenticeship, Amélie worked in marketing and in the poesia "hub", where many smaller and larger internal tasks are carried out and coordinated. Since the beginning of the second year of her apprenticeship, she has been working in sales. Here Amélie processes the orders of the company mk dichtungs ag, which arrive by mail or via webshop. She writes offers, order confirmations, delivery notes and invoices. She is also responsible for sending out samples. Amélie very much appreciates that the vocational trainer gives the students enough time for the work and explains it in detail. This is especially important when working with Excel and the ERP system, as these figures flow immediately into the system.

Martina Hilfiker, currently in her third year of apprenticeship as an EFZ businesswoman, likes the customer contact because it is always very varied. She says: "This always results in interesting work. I never know in advance what the customer wants and what needs to be done afterwards." This can result in work such as answering letters and mails or order confirmations. In the first year of the apprenticeship, she worked in the poesia "hub" and got her first insight into commercial work. In the second year, she worked in office sales, entered orders and was in contact with customers. Since the beginning of the third year of her apprenticeship, Martina Hilfiker has been working in the accounting department. Martina describes the change from school to apprenticeship as follows: "In the apprenticeship, you no longer sit in the classroom every day. I really appreciate the variety in the company. The weeks are more varied due to the mixture of work in the company and the school days, and they go by faster. Martina's favourite school subjects are German and IKA (Information, Communication and Administration). In her eyes, these subjects have the most to do with her job. So, for example, the application of computer science with hardware and software, but also communication with customers. To learn the extensive school material, Martina writes summaries of the subjects and then prepares for the exams. Later, she solves the tasks again with the laptop. These are similar tasks to those she has already solved in writing in the book. This is a good way to test her knowledge and to review the material. After the QV, Martina Hilfiker would like to stay at poesia for a while to gain more work experience. After that, she would like to start further training. Perhaps in the field of HR

Menefeji De Cecilia attended the WMS (Secondary business school) for the last three years and has already successfully completed the theoretical part. As a complete education also requires a practical part, she is completing a one-year practical training in the commercial field at poesia. Already last year she was at poesia for a 5-week short internship. In the end, she asked if she could do the one-year internship here as well, submitted her official application and got the acceptance. There are several reasons why she got the necessary practical training at poesia: "For me, the short internship was a perfect fit. My work colleagues were an important factor. I liked the fact that I had the feeling of already being part of the team right from the start. In addition, the tasks were very varied. This showed me that the internship year in this company would be ideal for me." A few weeks ago, she started her professional internship and was again very well received by the team. The start was also successful because she was already able to gather some prior knowledge about the poesia group: "My first day was exciting and I received a lot of information about the poesia group. I was also given the login data for the PC. I also received information about the school and about papers I have to write for school." Besides the team, Menefeji De Cecilia appreciates the customer contact. She likes that the company is well organised and structured. She also appreciates the variety, which makes the working days very interesting.

Quote Robin Müller: "The true value of a job is not only shown in its profit, but also in the joy and pride it creates."

Quote Amélie Cankurt: "Experiencing everyday life in a company helps me a lot to see connections and expand my knowledge."

Quote Martina Hilfiker: "Doing the apprenticeship at poesia is a good choice."

Quote Menefeji De Cecilia: "I feel very comfortable in the poesia group team. Moreover, I can apply the theoretical knowledge I have acquired at the WMS in my daily work.

The poesia group employs about 70 people, including six apprentices. It operates at the main site in Unterkulm and at the external sites in Hochdorf and Urdorf. It produces seals made of TPE and silicone for applications in the construction, engineering, transport and food industries.
